Zèza

2011

Zèza is an attempt to understand on the inside, and then demonstrate on the outside, the essence of the work that Romina De Novellis devised, felt, sweated over, and staged so successfully. The stage itself experiences the drama as it is composed and taken apart, through a dynamic of rhythms, gestures and movements. A dynamic which almost mimes the way a young girl who has been violated feels “zèza/dirty” inside. Zèza, then, is the energy which moves the young heart of somebody who can smell the odour of life and can only see its light. Then, suddenly, comes a gesture, a breakage – which reveals the other odour of life. […]
